Guidelines signed off by the Board of Trustees September 2025– Revision 1.0
At Revive Church, visiting and guest speakers are invited by Senior Team Members to support the pastoral and spiritual growth of the congregation. All content shared must be consistent with our Statement of Faith, the ethos and values of the church, and align with British values, including respect for diversity, the rule of law, and freedom of religion.
1. Invitation and Approval Process
Visiting speakers must be invited by a Senior Team Member (STM).
The STM must be confident that the speaker’s message will align with the church’s Statement of Faith, our values, and charitable objectives.
If there is any uncertainty or concern, the STM must consult a Trustee before confirming the visit.
Trustees may request further information (e.g. sermons, biography, online content), and the invitation may be brought to a Trustee meeting if further discussion is required.
Where possible, invitations should be finalised at least two months prior to the visit to allow time for review and preparation.
2. Safeguarding and Conduct
Visiting speakers must comply with all church safeguarding policies.
Access to children’s ministry areas is strictly prohibited while children’s groups are in session.
A Senior Team Member must be present during the presentation (ideally the organiser).
If the content shared during the visit is found to be inconsistent with our Statement of Faith, church values, or charitable ethos, the STM present may:
Pause or conclude the presentation.
Provide a clarifying or balancing response to the congregation if needed.
3. Media, Livestreaming, and Content Ownership
All gatherings at Revive Church are livestreamed and/or recorded.
By agreeing to speak at Revive Church, visiting speakers acknowledge that any content recorded or created during their visit — including video, audio, and written materials — remains the intellectual property of Revive Church, and may be used for training, teaching, promotion, or archive purposes at the church’s discretion.
4. Post-Presentation Review
The STM who organised the visit should review the content delivered.
If they were not present, they must consult with a Senior Team Member who attended.
If the speaker’s contribution is found to be misaligned with our beliefs, ethos, or values, they will not be invited to speak again at Revive Church.
